I have been following Internet TV for quite awhile.  You would think that the possibilities created by it would entice more channels to change there ways. Most people do not watch TV during the day since most people work during the day.  Those who don’t probably are not looking for most things that are advertised during the day.  With Internet TV ads can be targeted for more of who is watching at that time of day and is it mom, dad or the kids by looking at the type of show and content of it.

Just think about a channel where the commercials where only of interest to you.  You did not have to watch 20 minutes of commercials for and hour show but only 5 minutes.  The chance of seeing and ad that corresponds to what you need may be just what the industry needs.  I don’t watch commercials for the most part.  Most do not have any products of information of any value.  I jump from channel to channel just to avoid the commercial selling me the latest products that are not for me.

TV rating would not be a guess anymore since it would be possible to track how many people are watching each show exactly.  Your show might be canceled for low rating just because those that are doing the rating don’t like the show but maybe with the larger populous all included that show would run for a couple more years before it gets canceled.

As it stands right now I can not say that I have found a Internet TV provider that gets the job done.  Most shows are not available and so what is really the point.  If what I want to watch is not there then chances are the shows that other people want to watch are not there either.  Only a small percent of shows are full episodes and most are just clips.  At the rate that Internet TV is coming about it will be many ears from now before the entirety is available online.
